It's kind of Magic!
On March 9th, the Cosplay Mag team had the pleasure of going to the Monaco Anime Game International Conferences to celebrate its 5th anniversary. For this occasion, Shibuya Productions (editor’s note: magic’s organizing institution) saw things big!
As usual, this privileged event completely free, and with limited places, was sold out! And for good reason, 3,000 lucky people met in the principality, and more particularly in this exceptional place that is the Grimaldi Forum to live a magical moment. A sumptuous setting, prestigious guests, conferences and exciting animations, everything was masterfully led by CĂ©dric Biscay and his team to make us dream.
But what we liked the most, as you have probably already understood, was the MAGIC International Cosplay Masters (MICM)!
This year, 16 talented cosplayers of 15 different nationalities set fire to the stage of the Grimaldi Forum, all under the eyes of the exceptional mistresses of ceremonies Pichu and Lady Lemon, a renowned jury the group IAM, Pugoffka, Alisyuon (winner of the 4th edition) and a amazed audience!
The MICM was a real slap in the face for us! And for good reason, the competition that was proposed to us was of a flawless quality … Even more, it was great art! Because yes, on this stage, there are 16 artists among the best cosplayers in the world, who made us dream, who played with our emotions and who dazzled us as much by the beauty and details brought to their costumes as by the excellence and diversity of their performances.
Congratulations to all of you for all the work done to make this contest an unforgettable moment! And congratulations to the winners of this 5th edition of the MICM:
1st place: CYD Cosplay in Goku SSJ4 – Xenoverse version of the Dragon Ball GT series
2nd place: Adami Langley as Tyrande Whisperwind from the game World of Warcraft
3rd place: Luis from the group Banana Cospboys as Doctor Strange in the film of the same name
On behalf of the entire Cosplay MAG team, a big thank you to CĂ©dric and his team for their trust, it was a real pleasure to discover MAGIC. Thank you also to all the cosplayers who went under our objectives, for these moments of exchange and complicity that we were able to live together.
This 5th edition of magic will remain forever engraved in our memories and we give ourselves with great pleasure on March 7, 2020 for the 6th edition! 🙂
