During the event:

VISITORS:

Good preparation of his 4 days:

  • Be prepared to eat (the prices of snacks in the convention are often very exorbitant.).But, we also have our another little trick to save money and at a low price, especially today in 2022.If you do not want to break the bank, do not hesitate to download the applications “Phoenix” or “Too good to go”, you can find and book anti-gaspi baskets between 4 € to 10 € sold before the closure of a shop, or bakery. For this price, you can often leave with sandwiches and unsold desserts of the day, it avoids food waste, but it also saves life in this kind of situation. If you want to taste Japanese dishes rather than prepare your sandwich, you can of course buy some on Japanese food stalls, be careful only at “rush hour” (and prices too), the queue may be long around noon so anticipate.

Warning: avoid dried fruit stands, they are often present at events, expensive and will not help to hydrate you.

  • DRINK WATER even if you are not thirsty, moisten your lips, it is important, otherwise you may also feel bad.Small tip for water, so that it is fresh all day, you can put it in the freezer the night before. The next day it will be all frozen and you will have fresh water for the whole day.
  • Moisten and protect yourself, remember to wear seasonal clothing, and protective creams in case of high heat.
  • Put on a good shoe! You will already have pain in your feet by trampling so if in addition your shoes hurt you it will not help you have a good day.To be avoided: high heels or even shoes that are too flat.Since you never know, take bandages just in case.

Japan Expo organizes a lot of activities, concerts, dedications etc …So anticipate and make a schedule of what you want to participate in.The program is sleepy and already available on the Japan Expo website, go check it out and make your schedule from there so as not to waste time looking for the stands, the stages for nothing.

For the dedications, you have to pay attention to the schedules between those of distribution of the tickets and those of the dedication itself!

Be careful, also on first arrival first served in which case you will have to get up very early. For your purchases, if you already have an idea of what makes you want, also write it down on a paper for a better organization, do not spend the whole first day, but conversely do not wait until the last minute to buy something that you really like!
However on Sunday, the last day of the convention merchants can break the prices or you can haggle more easily with them, think about it too!(Publishers often offer goodies at this event, remember to inquire now on the Facebook pages concerned!)

Attention: be prepared to see stands selling counterfeit products, do not hesitate to inquire about the names of shops on Google to see the reviews on the Internet.

  • In this convention we get tired quickly so do not hesitate to take breaks! Already to eat but also throughout the day if you have pain in your feet, if you are simply tired, break somewhere a good half an hour to recharge the batteries.
  • There must be three or four cash withdrawal points in the convention so long tail inevitable so especially withdraw your money BEFORE going to Japan Expo, it will save you from wasting time.
  • You will necessarily want to meet your friends from all over the France! So recharge your laptop every night (the same goes for your camera if you want to take pictures!) or take a laptop battery so you can reach your friends without worries! The network sometimes makes its own in the convention unfortunately so also try to give you a fixed meeting point and stick to it! To walk in the convention the ideal is really in a small group, of three people for example, because otherwise you will expect, lose yourself, get angry, and that is not the goal.
  • Go to the toilet!! Oh yes don’t hold back! There are toilets everywhere in the convention, well there will often be the queue but go anyway, it’s very bad to hold back!

The watchword: anticipate!

COSPLAYERS

Good preparation of his 4 days:

Your cosplay program is long gone? So prepare your cosplay the next day the day before, with your reference image as a base so as not to forget anything, because a zapé detail zaps the morale.

I know it’s mission impossible but avoid the rush. Japan Expo is tiring so if you don’t sleep well, if you don’t rest and recharge your batteries, you’re not going to have a very good day. Your cosplay will inflate you because stuff does not hold and thing comes off etc … So do not ruin your health, cosplay is to have fun above all. Think of yourself and sleep!

Emergency box to be provided in case of force majeure! Always have your chisel, thread, needles, nanny pins, neoprene, an extra wig cap (dressings again and again) IN CASE your cosplay encounters a problem. Also take your makeup with you as sweat is your worst enemy.

Take breaks! Cosplay is creepy, whether it is imposing or rather light, it is still physical so give yourself a few moments of respite. Remove your armor, your annoying accessories, your high heels. Moisten your head, moisten your lips, watch out for sunstroke with the wig! Pay attention to yourself first and foremost. To avoid exhausting yourself too much, especially if your cosplay is imposing and fragile, avoid the busiest alleys.

Even if you come in cosplay you will surely want to do activities, which is why the schedule of what you plan to do is welcome to avoid wasting time! Ditto for your purchases if you have an idea of what you want.

Who says cosplay says a lot of bags to carry and if you do not want to spend the convention to kill your arms you can leave your luggage at the left-luggage office! On the other hand, you have to come early enough and pick them up early to avoid the crowds.

Go to the toilet! And yes do not stand jumping because the urge presses but you do not want to remove your cosplay! It’s bad to hold back! The toilet near the ECG stage is not full of people so think about it!

Clever and gifted with your hands as you are, think of the small invisible pocket under your cosplay for your mobile phone (previously recharged every night to avoid falling into the harbor).

If your cosplay is not complicated to put on or is pleasant to wear, the best is to come to the convention already dressed. Otherwise cosplay locker rooms are available on the side of the free cosplay scene!

Emergencies: If one of your cosplays breaks during the event, do not hesitate to go see the stands of associations, or the Cosplay part in the exhibition where you will often find SOS COSPLAY points to repair your costumes.

Careful: For your health, if you wear Bender, the tongs on the wigs or elements that can put you in danger, remember to remove them from time to time and you put in a corner.

Do not wear them longer, if you feel that it puts you in a bad position. The main thing is that you are healthy and have a good convention. In case of major problem, do not hesitate to ask a staff to take you where to join in the infirmary center of the exhibition. They are indicated on the general plan of the convention, remember to memorize them before your arrival.

Never wear the lenses you just bought for the first time without consulting an ophthalmologist. Remember to moisturize them with a specific product before putting any. (Think you have a saline with you!)
